Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Panama City area.
The beach is finely ground white quartz crystal, the water a brilliant, deep shade of green and smooth as glass, and the air especially clean and bright with the characteristic intense sunshine of Florida's panhandle, cleansed and purified by the constant soft breeze from the Gulf of Mexico. When Fort Lauderdale decided to become more family-oriented, Spring Break moved briefly to Daytona Beach, but now seems to have settled on Panama City Beach, and is now hotter than ever. The area's many amusement parks, marine attractions and golf courses provide plenty of vacation alternatives, and St. Andrews State Park with its lagoons, forests, sand dunes lined with sea oats, camp sites and hiking trails offers a comprehensive view of the natural terrain in this part of Florida. Within easier reach of the Southern states than the rest of Florida, Panama City Beach is a favorite weekend vacation break for Alabamans, and is within a day's drive from the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and New Orleans to the west, particularly apparent in the Cajun-influenced fresh seafood cuisine for which Panama City Beach is becoming famous.
